Our story begins with the elder of two brothers, born into a fisherman’s family on Turkey’s Black Sea coast. A small village instilled the value of hard work, resourcefulness and the courage to begin.

The brothers left home in search of a better future. The younger was fourteen. Near Dusseldorf, the elder became a carpenter; near Stuttgart, the younger learned to shape metal as a machinist. Their family name, Kutuklu, comes from the Turkish word for a tree log.

After seven years in Germany, the younger brother returned to Istanbul. He worked for an industrial company by day and operated a lathe at night, building the experience and resources to start his own business.

With his elder brother’s support, he founded a machinery business in Istanbul and bought a lathe from Poland. That single machine began a family enterprise that would eventually reach manufacturers around the world.

As Turkey’s furniture industry grew, manufacturers needed faster, more dependable production. The younger brother developed a locally made spring machine, establishing the family’s lasting relationship with spring technology.

Demand grew, and customers waited for the next available machine. Once installed, the equipment ran day and night. Consistent quality and reliable performance carried the family’s reputation into new factories.

The founder’s sons joined the business with fresh ideas and an international outlook. A first machine export to Italy opened the way to customers across Europe, Asia, Africa and South America.

International exhibitions brought the company to a wider manufacturing community. Exports expanded to more than fifty countries, while each market deepened the family’s knowledge of machinery, materials and spring production.

After completing a mechanical engineering degree in Germany, the founder’s nephew joined the family business. A new global perspective met generations of practical knowledge as the story entered its third generation.

After decades developing spring-production technology, the family began producing springs themselves. Their understanding of machines, steel and manufacturing became the foundation of a new independent brand: Sprinqs.

Sprinqs is expanding its production capacity and spring-system range. Almost six decades of engineering experience now support new Bonnell and pocket constructions—and the work on what comes next continues.
